  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Chelsea Laub -- Authentic, Touching, Actionable : What a great read! I am not one to typically read spiritual books, but when this was recommended, I didn't hesitate. The writing is authentic & clear - a wonderful balance of the author's personal voice and descriptive stories and lessons. The stories are touching & real - you can relate to the heartbreak and triumph, and although I have not experienced the same things, I was able to easily relate to my own life & experiences. Very thought provoking, insightful, and still approachable to someone, like me, who is new to spirituality. My favorite thing about this book, however, is that it's not just content and stories - there are actual actionable, thoughtful questions at the end of each chapter to help you dig in a little deeper to your own connection to God. Definitely a great read - I'll be ordering more to share! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Hannah -- "Impossible is impossible with God" : I have read a lot of Christian books and so often have felt that the authors of these are hard to relate to or simply preaching at me. This book was definitely different. It feels like you're engaging in conversation with her while you're reading it. I felt as though someone was really wanting to know how I was doing in life instead of asking out of obligation. There were many times where I was able to relate to Amanda's story. She offers a unique perspective regarding our willingness to fight against physical limitations yet we do not perceive our mental struggles the same way. I think so often as women we feel as though we need to be complacent with where we are at with stress, insecurities, and yes, our faith life. This book was a good kick in the butt to get me in the mindset of fighting against complacency to help myself as well as those in my life. What a great reminder that truly "impossible is impossible with God." ( Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Wendi Fredregill -- Laughing and crying on a plane reading this! : I read this on my outbound and return flight. Both times my neighbor sitting next to me asked what I was reading because I kept laughing out loud AND crying and saying YES out loud multiple times. The author is so good at re-telling events that happened that I felt like I was there. Her infusion of humor was so great and I loved how authentic and raw she was with all of her experiences. My favorite are the question prompts at the end of each chapter. This is a book I will refer to often, not just a book to read once and put on the shelf. I see myself including this in my daily journaling and prayer time. I felt such much HOPE and PEACE reading this book. Bravo! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from RobinKaufman -- relatable and inspiring : This is a great book for anyone struggling with feeling stuck in any situation in life. You don't have to be a bible scholar to be able to get into this and the author has a great way of bringing you in and making you feel like you too can successfully get past your paralysis and move into what God has in store for you. Even if you don't feel like you're stuck in any area of your life this book has a great message for everyone. We all have room for improvement and I feel like most of us get stuck at one point or another. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Mindy -- The “Bible Study for Dummies” class I’ve been searching for. : This is the exact book I have been searching for. For years I have been telling my friends I need a non intimidating Bible study for dummies to read or attend. The author does an incredible job using her own stories to teach and explain how God has his hand in all that we do. The feeling of paralysis is so real for so many people, and it is really what drew me to this book! The way the author conveys Gods message feels like you are sitting down having coffee with an old friend, all while learning what it means to have God in the center of your life. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Lisa -- Empowers you to focus on God's plan! : Great read! This book drew me in immediately to reflect on God's purpose for me and how to move toward that in a prayerful and productive way. "The Paralyzed Movement" is very different from other spiritual books that I have read. It pushed me out of my comfort zone to dig deep into some areas that I am not paying enough attention to. Through the author's transparency of her personal stories, I feel challenged, while also supported, to become a better version of myself. The author integrates scripture in a way that is powerful as familiar bible stories are seen in a new and personable light. This book would be great to read with a group of women as it has discussion questions at the end of each chapter that really challenge you to be reflective on your life. This is one that I could read again and again, because let's be honest, we are all on a continuous journey to battle against that which paralyzes us. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Barb Ranck -- Practical Wisdom for Real Life : When I first saw the word Paralyzed in the title, I wasn't sure what to expect, and wondered how I'd be able to relate to the content. I found myself drawn in from the very start - not only by the author's personal story, but how she translated paralysis into our personal and spiritual lives. More than that, I found myself enjoying her voice - upbeat yet realistic, funny and firm. I especially like the end-of-chapter reflections, where she recaps the key points and asks relevant questions that can help keep anyone - myself included - moving forward despite our life circumstances. A key takeaway for me was in the first few chapters, when she shared how IMPOSSIBLE IS IMPOSSIBLE. I had never considered this perspective, but it makes so much sense! • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Pam A -- Vulnerable, hope-filled and refreshing : My favorite books are the ones that don’t stop speaking when you put them down. The Paralyzed Movement pulled me in from the intro, I actually lost track of time while reading, and stayed with me long after. Zwanziger offers a refreshing, spiritual perspective on complacency and emotional paralysis with humor and engaging storytelling. The author’s vulnerability with her own story and exploration of grace leave the reader with hope and encouragement for this messy journey of life. I appreciated the practical guidance and thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter. I also enjoyed the shame-free tone. I highly recommend this book for anyone, wherever you are in your faith journey. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Lise C -- A book I'll re-read again and again! : The number one thing I LOVED about this book is that it isn't a typical Christian book. As someone who is more spirtual than anything else, I was a little skeptical to read this and to be honest, wasn't sure I'd be able to relate at all to the content.
